Enterprise Data Archival Takes Center Stage at Gartner Conference, Showcasing Archon Suite’s Strategic Advantage
Mumbai, India – June 2025:
At this year’s Gartner Data & Analytics Summit, enterprise leaders and technical experts converged at the Platform 3 Solutions booth to tackle a growing challenge: maximizing the value of historical data while efficiently decommissioning legacy systems.
The booth buzzed with high‑level conversations on data governance, security, and intelligent archival, underscoring Archon’s rising prominence in today’s data‑driven world.
Attending from Platform 3 were Karkavel M Jagadeeshan (CTO and Co-Founder), Evelyn Immanuel (Head of Marketing), Rasika Kutralam (Marketing Executive), Tamil Thendral and Vigneshkumar Gurusamy (Regional Sales Manager), Thilak Saravannan (Software Engineer), Harsha Kotha RajendraPrasad (AVP).
Data Governance & Security Dominate Booth Conversations
Visitors repeatedly highlighted regulatory compliance and data security as top priorities.
“Data governance was clearly top-of-mind. We had several in-depth discussions around regulations, PII management, and even defensible deletion,” Rasika recalled. “When we showed them the embedded compliance logic and our zero-trust storage model, they really started leaning in.”
And it wasn’t just surface-level interest. In many conversations, visitors asked about how Platform 3 implements policy enforcement across petabytes of data, how it manages legal holds, and how data classification actually works in practice. Platform 3 team walked clients through architecture specifics, talking about everything from metadata lineage to real-time purge workflows.
The platform 3’s messaging around “data bunker architecture” struck a chord with decision-makers. Archon Suite’s vault-like archival design stands out for its ability to deliver compliance without compromise, especially in highly regulated sectors like energy, banking, and pharmaceuticals.
“People would literally point at our wall that said, ‘Data Bunker’ and ask what it meant,” Rasika noted. “That became a great entry point to talk about our air-gapped storage, encryption models, and tamper-proof retention.”
One of the most engaging conversations came from the retail sector, where data volumes and sensitivities—run high. “One attendee was particularly interested in how we help manage customer information in legacy systems,” Rasika said. “They were trying to solve for both accessibility and security. Our solution was a great fit.”
Looking back, Rasika believes the strongest signal from the event was this: while many enterprises are chasing modern platforms, they haven’t yet found a modern way to govern what they already have.
“It’s easy to sell a new system. But most organizations are still sitting on years of data: old, messy, sensitive. That’s the harder problem. That’s where we come in.”
Evelyn Immanuel echoed these concerns, explaining attendees from healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors wrestled with historical data quality.
“Archival is becoming core to long-term analytics,” said Evelyn Immanuel, who engaged with SI partners and pharma clients. “They’re asking how to make archived data analytics-ready and compliant without throwing everything into a data lake and hoping it works.”
A few queries were focused on on‑premise storage support, ETL accessibility, and the rise of AI-readiness as businesses feed archived data into their LLM and predictive models.
Application Decommissioning & Archival Use Cases Fuel Interest
Beyond the booth, Archon’s intelligent archival and automation capabilities resonated with leaders facing end-of-life decisions on platforms like SAP ECC, Oracle, and older ERPs.
From over 70+ prospect interactions at our booth, a clear trend emerged — more than 60% of the organizations are either active in migration or early planning phases for decommissioning legacy systems.
ERP and legacy databases (particularly Oracle and DB2) were most commonly cited for replacement, with HR/payroll and CRM platforms close behind.
But it wasn’t just about what systems were being retired. The real pressure points came from what followed.
“Data quality” topped the list of daily challenges. Visitors from industries like manufacturing, finance, and healthcare voiced concerns around poor historical data integrity, lack of lineage, and regulatory readiness. One respondent from a pharma major noted, “Without metadata and context, our archive is just dead weight.”
“It was a great validation of our live archiving and metadata tagging capabilities,” said Rasika.
Multiple team members shared that application decommissioning was the star of discussions, especially paired with enterprise data archival in regulated industries. Tamil Thendral remarked that visitors struggled with legacy systems performance, infrastructure costs, and persistent audit-readiness concerns.
“What stood out to people was our ability to phase out legacy apps without losing access or governance,” noted Tamil. “It’s not just data storage. It’s compliant, searchable, and future-ready.”
Vignesh Gurusamy noted strong traction from banking, manufacturing, and healthcare professionals seeking comprehensive archival-plus-decommissioning solutions. Many hadn’t previously sought archival tools—until conversations about underlying data challenges shifted their thinking.
“For many, this was their first time seeing archival done as a full-stack approach,” said Vignesh. “We heard from folks in BFSI and pharma who said this is exactly what their cloud modernization teams are missing.”

Emerging Trends: Data-as-a-Product & AI Readiness
A noticeable industry shift was observed—the rising concept of data-as-a-product. Enterprises are prioritizing accessibility, value realization, and governance, not just cost‑efficient storage.
“Partners are no longer just asking how to store data. They’re asking how to train models on it,” Evelyn noted. “Archival has gone from ‘nice to have’ to ‘mission critical’ in AI roadmaps.”
Evelyn noted a surge in SI partner-driven archival initiatives, driven by the need for structured data archives to fuel AI and LLM projects.
Pharma giants and telecom firms are now eyeing real‑time analytics on historical data, and OSS/BSS app decommissioning roadmaps.
